Harold the horse

Once upon a time there lived a little baby horse called Harold. One day Harold had his second birthday and invited all his friends round for 6 o clock. Harold was getting bored so he decided to go for a walk. On his way he saw Hannah the horse pushing a big trolley with presents all wrapped up and all had tags on with names. “Who belongs to all those presents” said Harold the horse. Hannah the horse looked at Harold and quickly went away. Harold walked further and soon met his teacher Miss Carrot carrying a basket full of sausage rolls and cakes. “Miss Carrot who do all the cakes and sausage rolls belong to” said Harold. Miss Carrot said “It’s none of your business” and walked away. Harold said to himself why is everybody running away and keeping secrets from me? Harold went home and found his door was locked. Oh no, he said to himself, I can’t get in my house because it is locked, I am not having a good birthday. Harold sat there doing nothing when he heard his mum shout “Harold, Harold” Well he thought it was his mum but it wasn’t, he had just imagined it so he got up and went for a walk. On his walk Harold saw his friend Billy the horse with his sister. “What have you got behind your back?” said Harold. Billy just said “Nothing for you nosy” and ran off. Harold started to cry then, just as he sat down by a tree, his mum and dad trotted over to him. “Why are you crying?” Harold’s dad said. “Everybody keeps laughing and hiding from me” said Harold “Well lets go home because there is a surprise for you” said Harold’s mum. Harold and his mum and dad went home. Harold could see lots of balloons and could hear lots of music and laughter. When Harold turned the corner he saw all his friends sitting on the grass eating cakes. Everybody sang “Happy Birthday”. Harold was delighted to be with all his friends and family. He played lots of games at the party and said “Thank you” to everybody that came and brought things for the party. When everyone went home he helped his mum and dad tidy the stuff away. It was very late and his mum sent him to bed. In his dreams he was thinking of what a day he had and he said it was a day to remember.
